    1. బాస్మతీ రైస్‌ను (Basmati Rice) కడగా (Kadgaa) / Wash thoroughly: Rinse the basmati rice in cold water several times until the water runs clear. Soak the rinsed rice in enough water for 30 minutes. This helps the rice cook up fluffy and separate.

    3. తేనెలు (Telene) / Tempering: Add the bay leaves, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon stick, and cumin seeds. Let them splutter for a few seconds until fragrant.

    4. పచ్చిమిర్చి (Pachcha Mirchi) కలుపు (Kalupu) / Add Green Chiles: Add the green chilies and saute for a few seconds until they start to blister.

    5. ఉల్లిపాయలు వేయండి (Ulli Paayalu Veyandi) / Add Onions: Add the sliced onions and saute until they are translucent and softened, about 5-7 minutes.
